Judicial Branch of the State of Georgia – Semantic Deceit
Please Note: The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia is an agency within the Judicial Branch of the State of Georgia. The Council’s mission is to “assist the prosecuting attorneys throughout the state in their efforts against criminal activity in the state.” O.C.G.A. § 15-18-40. The Council does not have the legal authority to conduct investigations into the conduct of employees of a District Attorney’s office. The laws governing this agency and the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct adopted by the Georgia Supreme Court do not allow the staff to provide legal advice to individuals.
