Today, I was honored by the Association of California Cities – Orange County (ACC-OC) with the Assembly Legislator of the Year Award. The award highlights my commitment to protecting the autonomy of local governments and my support of Orange County communities.
The Association of California Cities Orange County is a great non-partisan organization that works closely with policy makers to promote common sense solutions for our California cities. Their “ground up” approach to policy is an innovative model for good governance that empowers our local communities to have a stronger voice on regional issues in Sacramento. I’m deeply honored to receive this award and look forward to helping the ACC expand throughout California for years to come.
“Assemblyman Allen is a tireless advocate for ACC and local control. He walks his talk by supporting pragmatic and balanced public policy, and fosters collaborative relationships between local elected officials and their state lawmakers,” said Lacy Kelly, CEO of ACC-OC. “For this reason, Allen was a natural choice for our ACC Assembly Legislator of the Year.”
The Association of California Cities – Orange County (ACC-OC) serves as a vital resource for municipal staff and elected officials, a strong voice for Orange County’s cities and a hub for good public policy. ACC-OC is guided by its three key initiatives, which include: serving as a catalyst for regional collaboration, an educational resource for Orange County city leaders and as the hub for good public policy in Orange County.
